Just got a package from Amazon.com through my favorite forwarding service Johnny Air. The package contains several accessories for my BlackBerry Bold 9700 and my wife’s BlackBerry Curve 8520 Gemini. Let’s take a look at these accessories one-by-one then.

First up is the Otterbox Commuter Case for BlackBerry Bold 9700. What can I say? This case made my BB Bold 9700 even more handsome-looking. It’s so masculine in its black color with soft rubber enclosure supplemented by a hard plastic modular case. The best thing about this case is that it doesn’t make the BB Bold 9700 bulkier. And it slips perfectly into my back pocket.

Then I also got the OEM Charging Dock for BlackBerry Bold 9700. It’s a simple dock that you can connect to your laptop’s USB port or connect it with the BB Bold Power Adapter.

Then for my wife’s BlackBerry Curve 8520 “Gemini”, a floral case:

All in all it cost me around Php4,000 inclusive of shipping.

So Globe Telecoms finally informed me that they got a stock of  BlackBerry Bold 9700 for me. I wasted no time in claiming it and so after some paperworks since I got the unit under the Globe BlackBerry Plan 1599 (cash out is 4,500+ for first month MSF and unit cost).

My first impressions? The BlackBerry Bold, despite being a smarthphone is of course very different in all respect with both my iPhone 3GS and Nexus One. It’s feels totally different to be using a QWERTY keyboard and some navigation buttons for main controls.

But the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is definitely for keeps. Design-wise, it’s elegant, stylish and classic-looking. Now wonder it’s the chosen enterprise phone of many.

I haven’t tested all the features since I’m still waiting for my new postpaid account to be activated. Anyway, I’m very satisfied so far with the BlackBerry Bold 9700. It truly deserves to be at the level of the iPhone and Nexus One and other Android smartphones.
