More Than 5.5 Million Filipinos Use Mobile Banking?

According to this AP report, there are already more than 5.5 million Filipinos who are using their mobile phone as mobile wallets transmitting money, mostly from overseas contract workers or from parents in the province to their children studying in Manila. Wow! I didn’t know that mobile banking is already a big thing here in the Philippines. I must have been sleeping all along, or is this just an exaggerated report. (more…)

PayPal Finally Enables Receive Money Facility in the Philipines

The good news is that PayPal account holders in the Philippines can now receive money into their PayPal account. But the bad news is there is not Philippine local banks where those money can be withdrawn from. PayPal account holders in the Philippines can only have their money debited into a U.S. based credit card (visa), debit cards and U.S. based bank accounts. So what is the alternative for us Filipinos whose been clamoring for the activation of this PayPal facility then? (more…)

WordPress 2.3 Successfully Installed

I successfully upgraded 3 of my blogs which are running the 2.2 WordPress installation into WordPress 2.3. The upgrade process took a bit longer than usual since my ISP at home was slow as always. I’ve checked out all my installed plugins and everything is working out fine. I also sent an email to TLA before installing WP 2.3 to check whether their plugin would work with 2.3 and they immediately replied with an affirmative.

Welcome to Amazon 2.0, Introducing Amazon Widgets for Associates

I gave up on my Associates a long time ago because it never gave me a good amount of revenue. The Amazon links that use to propagate on Associates blogs cluttered blog spaces and slows down loading time so I decided to take it out on this blog. Since then, there has not been too much happenings on the technical side of Amazon Associates. Until now, when I got received an email from Amazon Associates announcing about the new Amazon Widgets. BlogRush Traffic Generation Update

A lot of bloggers who signed up for a BlogRush account are writing their impressions so far about the first few days of implementing the BlogRush widget on their blogs. Darren of Problogger found that despite having 75,000 page impressions, there were only 35 clicks on his blog posts, a mere .05%. Andy Beal of Marketing Pilgrim  Beal finally saw some stats for his blog although similarly with problogger, Andy’s CTR is also very low at .017% despite having earned that much. (more…)

Actually, I didn’t mention any reasons on why and let the post hanging for people to contradict my claim. Yahoo Mash BetaShortly after being rumored that a Yahoo staff has accidentally spilled out Yahoo’s new social networking site, Yahoo! Mash goes public on a per-invite-beta version. I got my invitation via Mashable and immediately got inside the Yahoo! Mash. I thought at first that access to the Yahoo Mash would be a tough, but then getting access into it is as easy as creating a profile for anybody who wants to try it out.
