So, you’ve probably heard about Apple giving the go signal for millions of  fanboys in the U.S., UK, Canada, France and Japan start pre-ordering their iPhone 4.  Latest report had it that most of these countries have already sold out their pre-order stocks of the iPhone 4. But since only the black version of the iPhone 4 was made official, I’m pretty sure Apple will be accepting more pre-orders in the days to come.

The bad news is that for us Filipino Apple fanboys based in Manila, we’re not going to get our hands on Apple’s latest iPhone until probably around September. But that doesn’t mean we’ve got nothing to do but to wait till Globe Telecoms made it available.  So how do you get, where do you get the iPhone 4 if you’re in Manila, Philippines?

U.S., France and Japan are already out of the question since the iPhone 4 in these countries are carrier-locked. The good news is, the iPhone 4 is being offered SIM-free, unlock in UK and Canada Apple Online Store. This means that if you’ve successfully pre-ordered an iPhone from any of these two countries and Apple ships your unit on the 24th, all you need to do is get a Globe, Smart or Sun sim and trim the sim to fit into the iPhone 4′s micro-SIM slot. All three networks’ SIM will work on the iPhone 4.

So, how do you get it is another story. If you’ve got friends living in the UK or Canada you can asked them for a favor and pre-order the iPhone 4 for you. Or if you don’t know anybody in those two countries, you can use a UK address courtesy of those UK Address Forwarding Services. There are many of them around. Just do a Google search.

If you can wait until July, you can go to HongKong or Singapore and purchase the iPhone 4 yourself. Those two Asian countries will have the iPhone SIM-Free and unlock as well.

So, there good luck fellow Apple fanboys in Manila!

Just got a new silicone case for my iPhone 3Gs. Yes, I still love my iPhone despite the arrival of my Google Nexus One recently. Who says you can’t love two smartphones at the same time?

Now, I would have to admit that this one rocked me when I found out about it. Yup, that’ s native iPhone App for YugaTech.com.  It’s a simple app made especially for YugaTech’s fans.  It’s a free app and eats only around 0.8MB of your iPhone’s storage.Feature-wise, it’s a straight-out RSS version of  YugaTech the blog. And it’s optimized for comment as well. So, can immediately post your comments on any of the posts that you are reading.

If my memory serves me right, this is the first Pinoy blog that got turned into an iPhone app. (Correct me if I’m wrong)

And also the app is supported by ads, right Abe?

Anyway, it’s a pretty solid apps. Love the auto-cache feature, so you can read the blog posts offline.

More features in the next updates? How about Push notification when new posts are published? That would be awesome.

Received a sample unit of this iPil Mic for iPod and iPod Touch.  All I can say about is that this mic is powerful. It records good sound quality and measures almost like your ordinary tablet Pill.  The pill is divided into half – one serves as a protective cap while the other is the main mic. The iPill works with third-party sound recorder apps so make sure you download one before buying this tiny gadget.Will try to put up a sample sound recording and some other impressions about the iPill later.
