The new iPhone 3G S is already out in the U.S. and other lucky countries. Along with the new iPhone are a plethora of new features, most notable of them is of course the upgrade phone camera which now support video capture. For us iPhone users in the Philippines, no words yet from Globe Philippines regarding its release. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t get too enjoy some of the new features of the iPhone 3G S. Well, actually we can – with iPhone 3.0 OS.photo (28)iPhone 3.0 OS is available now via automatic iTunes update. As soon as you’ve uploaded and installed the new OS – be prepared, as it transforms your iPhone 3G into a new mobile machine.

Some of the great features of iPhone 3.0 include:

  • cut and paste functionality
  • search spotlight
  • login option to YouTube
  • search facility on various default apps
  • MMS sending
  • and most importantly – Internet tethering

Incidentally, if you are anywhere in the U.S. where your iPhone’s carrier is AT&T, Internet Tethering won’t work yet. Unless you follow some hacks and tips.

But luckily for us in the Philippines and other countries, Internet tethering works just fine. Finally, we can now use the iPhone as a modem for connecting our laptops and netbooks to the Internet. You can do this either through USB or Bluetooth.

If you have an iPhone 3G and a pocket video camera, I guess there’s no need to get the iPhone 3G S anymore, right?
