Whoa! Apple has just announced the new faster iPhone 3G S slated for a June 19 release in the U.S. and the rest of the world (including the Philippines) on July 9. “S” stands for speed, as the new iPhone is said to be faster and more powerful than the iPhone 3G.
Other new features include:
- 3.2 MP camera with tap to focus
- video recording at 30fps (nice!)
- hands-free voice control
- longer battery life
- new iPhone OS 3.0 (cut and paste functionality, MMS finally!, etc.)
- 16GB and 32GB capacity models – sweet!
The 16GB iPhone 3G S will have an SRP of $199, while the 32GB S for $299. Prices are applicable only at AT&T as it comes with the 2-year service contract.
I wonder how much Globe Telecoms will sell the iPhone 3G S when it becomes available in July? The Apple Philippine store has already listed the iPhone 3G S. But no information on pricing and release date is available yet.
