This blog is currently running on WordPress 2.5. I took the usual process > download WP 2.5 installation > unzip in my HD > ftp all the WP2.5 files into domain host > upgrade successful. I skipped the whole process of deleting the previous wp-admin files etc. and went directly to upgrade.php. Looks good so far. The major changes happened in the WP dashboard.
Was looking around for a not so expensive bag for my newly bought (yeah, I finally succumbed to the temptation!) Asus Eee PC when I stumbled upon this cool looking, not so expensive (trans. Dirt Cheap!) shoulder bag with an Optimus Prime Logo in front! Fits the Asus Eee PC with less than an inch free space. The bag is made of cheap synthetic leather and has extra front pocket that fits a couple of gadgets more (P990i CP and iPod Touch). If it doesn’t appeal to you, check some other options at Eeepc.net.
It’s been a hectic week. There were tons of techie stuff to cover. Here’s all of them in one blog post. Link, digg, sphinn, bookmarks, will be highly appreciated.
Is Winning the Web‘s Gyutae Park out to own the web? After a successful contest a couple of weeks ago, here comes Gyutae again with another contests. Only this time, it’s crazier. In fact this could indeed be the craziest Internet Marketing Contest you’ve ever seen. Now how’s that for an opening pitch? Anyway, that won’t win me any of the cool prizes that Gyutae is giving away, so I might as well do the traditional “i’m joining your contest” post.
This gathered quite a number of sphinn and I guess back links from SEJ. The rapper was awesome. Reminds me of an old friend back in college, and he goes by the name of d’gorilla. Now who says SEO work can’t be fun? Enjoy the video after the jump.
Librarians who are against the Google Book Project may not find this useful. But for those who have embraced the new web, the Google Book Search API is certainly a welcome development. What can the Google Book Search API do? It lets you put a link in your library catalog entries that points to an item’s information in Google Book Search.
Genius has a new portable slim tablet in the form of the G-Pen F350 ULTRA SLIM. This is a 3×5 tablet complete with a cordless pen. Write, draw, sketch, sign emails, and do your other work in the most practical and convenient tablet. Using this tablet can prove to be even more convenient than using a mouse.
As usual, better late than no post. For the week 03-09 March 2008.
Social networking and online communication:
With the number of articles that I need to write daily, the task of spellchecking and grammar checking what I write is beginning to become a daunting task. That’s why I badly need a text editor with plugins that would let you publish blog post that you created from a text editor to your blog “as is, where is”.
Just attended a forum sponsored by my alumni association (UPLSAA) on Web 2.0. The speaker was Jonas de los Reyes of Yehey.com’s ecommerce unit. Jonas is also a blogger and a very active one, unlike me.
