Avilon Zoo in Montalban, Rizal
Road Trips November 20th, 2006
I finally visited the much talked about Avilon Zoo in Rodriguez (Montalban), Rizal. It was a fun-filled and educational trip. The travel time from Quezon City Memorial Circle was well worth it once you communed with the many animals inside the Avilon Zoo.
Avilon Zoo is a one-hour drive away from Quezon Memorial Circle. There are three routes that you can follow to get to the Zoo. All these routes would take you to the town of Rodriguez (formerly Montalban), Rizal, where Avilon Zoo is 30 minutes away, including traffic due to narrow main roads and many Public Utility Jeepneys and Tricicles (3-wheeled passenger vehicles) plying the route. If you are not lucky, you might chanced upon a funeral procession since the cemetery is along the national road.
But all these troubles will be well worth it since Avilon Zoo is truly an amazing place. Want proof? View my Avilon Zoo photo gallery.

I thought the animals there weren’t kept in cages?
One of the many places I want to go to including La Mesa Ecopark but can’t find time yet. Lotsa work.
