Road Trip to Cavite and Taytay

Who says that Filipinos spend the Holy Week Break (Thursday-Sunday) at home or churches reflecting and praying amidst the heat of summer? The traffic along Aguinaldo Highway in Cavite leading to the Tagaytay rotonda showed that majority of Filipinos (Metro Manila residents particularly) do not spend this time of the year doing their penitence and contemplating on their sins.

Yesterday, I was at the Music One shop in SM Megamall and noticed a slew of new releases from various Pinoy local bands displayed on the racks of the store. Looks like the pinoy music scene is getting much attention nowadays that record companies are on the run to distribute these bands’ album in the mainstream.

The second installment of the phenomenal compilation album Pinoy Ako which was released simultaneously with the launching of an equally phenomenal hit TV show Pinoy Big Brother, is now out. Dubbed as Pinoy Ako 2, the album is composed of 12 tracks from various Philippine local bands.
