So, Cassey Bisson’s prototype OPAC has evolved further into a full pledge demo with real records and interface. Introducing the WPopac.
And yes, it looks pretty good despite the fact that it took me quite sometime to appreciate it. And what struck me just  now, is the fact that being in a wordpress environment each records would have its own permalinks making it indexable by search engines. Thus expanding the scope of search engine further to include library catalogs. So, what does it imply? Library users relying further to search engine rather  than their library’s very own OPAC. But then, Cassey’s concept is still in its beta stage, who knows if other libraries would be open to such idea.
As for me? I would love to see a fully working WPopac with a real library database on its backend.

[...] Here’s a live sample of Wpopac conceptualized by maissonbisson. I just wish I’d know how they entered the bibliographic records? Manually one by one, or they used another application to convert MARC records into mySQL data.? Or they capture live data from their existing library database system? But the OPAC is pretty neat. Looks easy to search, with the tagging features of an ordinary blog and entries are displayed in a nifty fashion. [...]
