Carnival of Infosciences #23

February 7, 2006 · Posted in Library and Information Science

It’s nice to be noticed by fellow blogging librarians in other parts of the world. Thanks to the laughinglibrarian for linking my post about cassey bisson’s OPAC 2.0.

The topic was about a prototype  OPAC using the wordpress platform. Incidentally, Von of the filipino librarian, and I were exchanging emails last weekend about that topic. And Von was main concern was how WP would migrate bibliographic data and display via the WP blog interface? And we share the same sentiments that if bisson’s OPAC 2 push through, most third world countries dilleman would probably be solved. And that is the high cost of vendor supplied library management systems.

Ops, sorry for diverting away from the title of this post.
